Fishing
October long weekend marks the opening of the stream fishing season in Lake Oberon, get trawling for rainbow trout and golden perch fingerlings.

Walks and day hikes
Plenty of walking spots local to Oberon and many further afield.

We recommend:

Blenheim Forest Walk - a bountiful native forest walk that is excellent for bird watching.
Oberon Tarana Heritage Rail Trail - local history along a flat and shady walk.
Evan Crowns Nature Reserve - rich with history, a short hike to a granite summit for breathtaking views.

Canyoning
Challenging abseils alongside scenic waterfalls, be sure to explore Dione Dell, Kanangra Main and Kalang Falls canyons.

National Parks
Surrounded by a number of National Parks, be sure to take a day trip to:

Abercrombie River National Park - great for hiking, birdwatching, swimming, kayaking and 4WD tours.
Kanangra-Boyd National Park - worth a visit for the lookout across the valley or take a multi-day hike to challenge yourself.

Mountain Biking
From family friendly rides to challenging and exhilerating biking loops.

We recommend:

National Park rides - Mount Emperor, Mumbedah, Boyd River and Morong Falls.
Or to push yourself, look into the Mount Werong Loop.
Historic Pioneer Trail

Motorcycles
Quiet roads and amazing scenery with plenty of bends and hills for interesting rides - the trip to the Jenolan Caves is a must.

Oberon Farmers Markets - from 9am, first Saturday of every month at the Showground.
